Kitten’s First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes
The publisher says… It is Kitten’s first full moon, and when she sees it she thinks it is a bowl of milk in the sky. And she wants it. Does she get it? Well, no . . . and yes. What a night! A brief text, large type, and luminescent pictures play second fiddle to the star of this classic picture book—brave, sweet and lucky Kitten! Winner of the Caldecott Medal, an ALA Notable Book, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book, and winner of the Charlotte Zolotow Award.
Eva says… So the problem HERE is, this kitten thinks that the moon is a bowl of milk! And I guess if you never saw the moon before, you might think that, ESPECIALLY if you’re a kitten! But actually, you know what? I think it looks more like a COOKIE.
But cats don’t like cookies. At least Spot doesn’t.
Anyway, at the end this kitten gets a REAL bowl of milk, so it all works out.
The pictures in this one are all black and white and you know what? When it’s night and the moon’s out, that’s what it looks like! It makes everything look black and white.
So that was a good idea.
I really liked this one!!
